South Mist

After leaving the Mist Creek trail, we had the whole place to ourselves. This 11km hike took us to a col south of the main Mist ridge, and from there we ascended a rise to the west. Views were great in all directions. Our return took us south down to Picklejar Creek, a steep section of the hike without much of a trail to follow, so it was slow going. Eventually we got to the creek, then out to Hwy 40, and back to our cars as afternoon thunderstorms rumbled to the east. A hot day, but good.
